Steven H. Steven H. Levin is an experienced trial attorney at Steptoe LLP who defends individuals in high-profile criminal investigations and prosecutions and guides companies through challenging government enforcement matters. He directs internal investigations, tries complex cases, and represents clients before the Department of Justice and other government agencies. His defense work has included major automotive companies and clients in the manufacturing, technology, and financial services sectors.

Before joining Steptoe, Steve was a partner at a prominent Maryland law firm, where he served as vice-chair of the White-Collar Defense practice group. Earlier, he spent more than a decade in senior government positions, including as a supervisor in the US Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland, where he investigated and prosecuted cases involving financial crimes, public corruption, racketeering, cybercrime, national security, narcotics, money laundering, immigration offenses, and violent crime.

Steve recently retired from the United States Army after a career on active duty and in the reserves. He served as a prosecutor, defense counsel, and criminal law professor before spending his final ten years as a military judge, presiding over dozens of courts-martial and authoring dozens of appellate opinions for the Army Court of Criminal Appeals. Upon retirement, he received the Legion of Merit.

Steve earned his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, an M.S.S. from the US Army War College, and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
