Sarah Morath teaches courses on legal writing, including a new course on generative AI. She also teaches courses on environmental justice and animal law. Her book, Our Plastic Problem and How to Solve It (Cambridge University Press 2022), received the 2023 Nautilus Silver Award. Professor Morath has served on the editorial board of the Journal of the Legal Writing Institute and is the past chair of the Animal Law and Agriculture and Food Law Sections of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS).

Professor Morath was formerly on the faculties of the University of Houston Law Center and the University of Akron School of Law. Before joining academia, she clerked for Chief Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr., of the U.S. District Court of Maine; Justice Andrew M. Mead, of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court; and four justices of the Maine Superior Judicial Court.
